The Children's Classic Run is an annual one-mile fun run that benefits the Union Hospital Foundation Pediatric Therapy Fund, which services the Wabash Valley.  Since 1993, the event has raised over $300,000 to assist families so their children can continue therapy sessions.  Union Hospital’s pediatric therapists see more than 350 children from throughout the Wabash Valley each month, and many of those children make multiple visits for different types of therapy. The department provides therapy for children with cerebral palsy, muscular dystrophy, spina bifida and other developmental disorders or special needs. Some of the children may not be able to run, jump, play or walk.

But when treatment stops there is a definite setback. For many children who need therapy, insurance and government programs do not cover all the treatments needed.

The RHIC has been a proud partner of the event for almost a decade.
