Neonatal Outreach Project

The Neonatal Outreach Program was developed to provide training of healthcare professionals in rural areas & critical access hospitals in the stabilization & care of neonatal and obstetrical emergencies. Nurses, Paramedics, Respiratory Therapists, & Physicians can come to this course, provided by the RHIC Simulation Center, & have access to the unique blend of education that high-fidelity simulation can provide.

Neonatal Resuscitation & Stabilization

The class is taught by highly skilled and experienced instructors who are trained in the stabilization of mothers and infants. The course was developed after an extensive needs assessment was completed of providers from various critical access hospitals surrounding Vigo County. A detailed evaluation is being conducted to determine the reliability of the course and it is the focus of the NOP Team to expand this program in a reproducible way to the rest of the state of Indiana, as well as the Midwest.
